    Clubs & Activities

Extracurricular clubs and activities provide students with opportunities to pursue passions and enrich their educational experiences.   At Belgravia, staff work in partnership with our school community to offer these types of involvements for our students. Most clubs and activities are available at no cost to students with expenses covered by the Belgravia School Council. Some of our clubs this year can be seen on this list, and others will be added at the year progresses (see Clubs & Activities page to see the list)

    SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

Belgravia's strong emphasis on outstanding student achievement and development of the whole child reflects the values and expectations of the academic/professional community in which it is located. Students are challenged and enriched through a strong academic focus, as well as a significant array of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. All classrooms are inclusive teaching and learning areas. Frequent cross-grade activities give the school a carefully-nurtured "family" atmosphere, which is reinforced by supportive parental involvement.

Welcome

The small and intimate nature of the school, the values held by the school, parents and the community, and the high degree of parent and community support and involvement all contribute to a positive environment. “Buddy Reading”, cross-grade events and our student citizenship and leadership initiatives reinforce a sense of community among the students. A general sense of caring, consideration and respect among students, staff and parents
is prevalent.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Belgravia School!  I am honored and excited to be part of such a vibrant and dynamic school community.  Belgravia School is truly a community school. We are located in a very exciting and diverse area of the city of Edmonton. Conveniently located within blocks of the University of Alberta, The University Hospital as well as the river valley, ravine and hiking trails; our students are provided extensive enrichment opportunities. Our school is the hub of the Belgravia community and provides world class educational experiences and whole child development to each of our students.

Our goal is that each year, our students will go through a personal journey of transformation that takes them one step closer to realizing their true potential.

Transformation and growth is also evident in our energetic and dedicated team of teachers, support staff and administration. We challenge ourselves to maintain the same sense of curiosity we see in our students and translate that passion into engaging and rewarding learning opportunities for our students. We believe that having high quality, nurturing and passionate Teachers, Educational Assistants and Support Staff is essential to a school's success. We truly operate as a team to provide your children with "high quality teachers, and a high quality classroom environment, each and every day." (Superintendent Darrel Robertson)

Community engagement and involvement in the school are a vital component to the rich experiences our students share while at Belgravia School. We regularly consult with and work alongside our community partners and families and encourage community engagement in curriculum and learning programs.

If you have children here, we are thankful you have chosen and continue to be a part of the Belgravia School family.  We look forward to working with our students each day. If you don't yet have children at Belgravia school, we welcome you and look forward to meeting you and showing you why we are so excited about our school.

We continue to be a welcoming environment where we all work toward fostering engaged, lifelong learners who will have a positive impact on the world. At Belgravia School, we believe our students will change the world!

Wishing everyone a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Denis Mills, M.Ed., MBA
